Dr. Phivos Mylonas is currently a Researcher by the Image, Video and Multimedia Laboratory, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Department of Computer Science of the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. He obtained his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2001, his Master of Science in Advanced Information Systems from the National & Kapodestrian University of Athens (UoA) in 2003 and his Ph.D. degree at the former University (NTUA) in 2008. His research interests lie in the areas of content-based information retrieval, visual context representation and analysis, knowledge-assisted multimedia analysis, issues related to personalization, user adaptation, user modeling and profiling, utilizing fuzzy ontological knowledge aspects. He has published 20 international journals and book chapters, he is the author of 33 papers in international conferences and workshops, a reviewer for international journals (Signal Processing, Neurocomputing, Journal of Networks, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, Multimedia Tools and Applications) and has been involved in the organization of 13 international conferences and workshops. He is an IEEE member since 1999, an ACM member since 2001, a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2001 and a member of the Hellenic Association of Mechanical & Electrical Engineers since 2002.
